I’d like to start out by saying that I am in no way claiming to have reached my summit, or that I am even close. To be honest, I have only just begun. Every day that I wake up my peak rises just a little higher. However, I can say with 100% certainty that I am well on my way and that EVERY DAY that I am blessed to open my eyes, I have reached a new summit within. You see just a few short years ago I was ready to throw in the towel and end my journey and relationship with myself. I had given up the climb and was about to surrender to defeat. I had hit MY ROCK BOTTOM. After years of climbing that jagged mountain in search of a better way I had found myself at the bottom of it… broken, bruised, cut, bleeding, and alone. How in the hell did this happen? How could I have allowed this to happen? I was a fighter, a survivor a go-getter, yet there I was standing naked and afraid in an unfamiliar shower at a mental hospital staring at the water and my life going down the drain.
